In current United Kingdom and now United States both Patriotism and Nationalism have become the last bastions of ever growing group of small minded people within both countries. It reflects just just how detached and fearful people are becoming about the world around them which is ever shrinking, changing and moving away from a world which they once knew especially in their childhoods.

But rather than embrace and find opportunities in the changing world they seek to stop even wind back time helped by now growing ultra-conservative elite even at the cost of their own children, freedom and future prosperity.

The world now is not shaped by hopes, dreams and unlimited imagination but now by a pandemic of fear and hate propagated by an elite who are even more afraid of the future which intellectually they cannot even fathom out.

Once in our society Patriotism and Nationalism may have had it’s place but the world has moved on and it will move on beyond the current nations to where cultural identity will become more important than what country you belong too. There are those out there will think this statement is a bit strange but nations are only constructs themselves created by man to give a sense of belonging.

All this is breaking down because the internet allows people to go beyond their nations and interacts with people all over the world and certainly among the younger people and those who use the internet regularly start to identify themselves more as part of a world community rather than they very nation they are part of.

It gives people opportunities to talk to people of other cultures, in some cases within the same nation, and learn more about the world and the people which populate it. It will eventually mean people will start to see themselves as part of a global society rather than just part of a national society.

So in the end Patriotism and Nationalism are certainly the last bastions of the small minded that is those who are too afraid to move forward. Those of us who want to embrace the future responsibility is to make sure these people stop defining the direction of our world, hopefully by peaceful means and talking to them explaining the future is not something to be afraid of but to be looked forward to with hope and wonder!

It is coming to a point in our Western Capitalism to find better ways to build, buy, sell even make a living which is outside of a system which has become corrupt and self-serving to a point it is destroying the very thing it seeks to protect.

I am getting feeling rather than fight the system do something to make in obsolete and irrelevant to the modern world which the internet can be the best catalyst for this change.

After all if we stop fighting it and ignore it it will eventually fade away into obscurity much as Nobility in Europe did when Feudalism was replaced by the modern Industrial World.

We have to all face the fact Western Capitalism has run it course now, we should start to get off our backsides create a new way of doing things on our own now and stop moaning about something which is dying a natural death.

As the media around us batter us with a constant dark picture of the world. That is a constant diet of war, terrorism and disasters tinged with openly right wing agenda almost to a point of promoting racism, homophobia and twisted Christian ethics which do not even resemble the truth ethics of the Christian religion.

All this to keep the masses in the West in line by use of fear if they do not follow the so called masters within the right-wing establishment made up of the top 1% super rich people all this evil will destroy the West and it’s precious society. Regardless the fact it this very establishment which is actually destroying the West with their greed and grab for power at the expense of the masses freedoms and quality of their lives.

With all what is going on it has come time for free thinkers to start to speak out and scream from the roof tops that what is happening in the West is wrong and it will lead to the real destruction of everything from within and not from external forces.

It is time for free thinkers to call for real change in the West as without change it is currently doomed to failure on a massive scale.

It is not time for sheep any more who live under the illusion everything is still all right as one day they will wake up with no freedoms with lives of constant work in servitude to rich few who lives of extreme wealth on the backs of their hard work within a world ravaged by those who use it rather than loved it.

So it is time for free thinkers not sheep!

Getting Harder To Believe Any More!

Posted: 15 February, 2016 in Comment, Life, Society

I want back to work today after two weeks off not with usual annoyance about the fact that I was back at work with all the hassle that comes with it but with a feeling I do not believe in what I am doing is right any more. Not on the level of the job itself but I am part of a society I do not believe in any more!

After both recent events and series of events over the past decades which have occurred both here in the United Kingdom and World. Strangely it is not wars or terrorism which we are lead to believe comes from the Muslim world as all my life I have lived under the threat of terrorist and there has never been real peace in our World. It is not the threat of Putin in Russia as all through my life I have been lived by a Russia, in the form of the USSR, who could of attacked and overrun Europe at any time and did not because with all their talk they are not that stupid.

It is Western Society and Capitalism I have lost faith in as over the past decade I have watched a Western World lose it way in so much it has become greedy, shallow and stagnant. It’s governments and establishments keep making the same mistakes again and again retreating back to what they know as the world around them grinds to a halt. Looking after a small elite who get richer on the backs of a growing poor and shrinking middle class.

Add to this I am constantly bombarded with a media which promotes apathy, shallow ideas of celebrity, fear of a terrorist threat which is simply not there and now openly permutes racist, homophobic even fundamental Christian ideals as something we should believe in or accept as normal. All this to keep those rich and powerful in power and rest of people in line using fear and art of divide and conquer to subdue them. All this made worse as I see people around me actually falling for this propaganda around me ending up almost automatons who serve an uncaring society and establishment.

It is getting harder everyday to believe in the society, government, establishment even corporations which puts itself, power and wealth before people which make them up, serve them and buy off them. All made worse as each day they by their actions have made me feel powerless and disconnected from a world around me which I an starting not want to be part of any more.

I am like lot of people out there who feel like myself want the world to change not in small way but radically and in a fundamental way as if it does not we are all doomed. People like myself will literally find a way to turn our back on the world and give up.

It is getting harder everyday to believe in society, work and the world!

My New Mantra!

Posted: 14 June, 2015 in buisness, Comment, Life, Society

One of my new mantras will be:

Society does not serve Business but Business serves Society!

Enough said I think!

What has always saddened me about society, especially Western society, is the way we define ourselves to others. That is we define ourselves by our current job which I do know is a historical reasons.

This has never set well with me because it implies what we do as a job within society is more important than who we actually are. I’ve never liked this definition as my current job certainly does not define who I am but something I do to earn money.

It also puts far too much emphasis within our lives and society on our jobs and not the rest of our lives where usually we express ourselves in our hobbies, interests and the such. Those thing which actually define who and what we are rather something we do to make money so we can afford to live in a human created, rather natural, society.

This emphasis on jobs has always skewed our view of society and people which surround us and makes jobs too important to be a point people forget the rest of their lives. This has in my opinion been a very unhealthy situation for people to be in as they too focused on work rather than living their lives to the full.

Myself I now define myself not my job but by terms we define me more that is I am idealist, dreamer and individualist which define me more accurately.

Shallower and Shallower!

Posted: 27 March, 2015 in Comment, Life, Society

After the last week what has become very apparent to me is just how false and shallow our Western World has become more interested in money, status and power and less interested in the actual people which make up society itself.

Strangely the people around me accept this as normal even buy into it totally regardless of the negative effect it has on themselves and the world around them. Though I am not surprised as those who benefit from this false and shallow world use the media extensively to push forward this world as a utopia for all.

In the end if we continue in this path it will mean eventual destruction of Western Society from the inside as it will collapse from the inside. We are already seeing the first signs of this collapse in so much Western Society has stopped moving forward socially, scientifically and technologically!

My personal view is that the Western World does not have to be like this as regardless to those people who promote this false and shallow world would like people to believe as people still have the ability to say no and think for themselves even on an individual level.

I know that thinking for yourself and saying no is hard work or some people but in the end it is very rewarding as it usually leads to a far more fulfilling life in the end even in a world which tries to stop you following such a path.

In conclusion regardless of those people who promote the modern false and shallow world we all have the power to change our lives in a direction we want it to go even with the constraints of the modern Western World. Plus if enough people do the same we can change the world even for the better!

The one thing that I have observed in our society just that very few individuals and groups, including Governments and Corporations, are prepared to take any responsibility for their actions or things they have created. If anything they try their hardest not to take responsibility to a point they will blame everyone but themselves. What makes it worse people are angry about it but they simply do nothing or accept it as the normal behaviour as most of these people show the same behaviour themselves.

This behaviour has become worse since the 1990s to a point it is ingrained into the whole fabric of our society especially here in the West and it is crippling and destroying society from the inside. Because this lack of taking responsibility for our actions both as individuals and as society as a whole means we are not facing the major issues which blight our society and lives. Such issues being racism, hate and the general apathy which are currently holding our society back from progressing forward again.

But as always what I have just said will fall on deaf ears as large majority of the people who read these words I write will not want to take responsibility because it sounds like too much hard work to do so.

So the world will continue on its present path with Governments and Corporations dodging their responsibilities causing unnecessary suffering to people who simply want to improve and live their lives. People will still not take responsibility for the issues in their society will continue blame everyone else, for example immigrants, for these issues rather than themselves who are the real cause of these issues.

So nothing will change and society will eventually destroy itself from its core simply because everyone will simply not take responsibility. I know taking responsibility is hard but it has to be done even on individual level for us all to move forward!

What a Shallow World We Live In!

Posted: 15 September, 2014 in Comment, Life, Society

Today I did my shopping around town which does involve a lot of walking and carrying of stuff so myself and my partner use a wheeled shopping trolley to carry our shopping around town as it makes shopping so much easier for us both. At our end gone are the days when I am being a macho man and killing off my hands and arms trying to hump a load of shopping in my hands.

This to some people out there seams like a very uncool thing to do after all wheeled shopping trolleys are for the old and I was told so by someone at work as I popped in to do something at work which I could not do in the end.

Their remark made me think that who was the bigger fool me pulling a wheeled trolley around or them for making such trivial remark that it did not look cool that I had the trolley with me?

I suspect you know the answer already it was the person who make the remark in so much they put how they looked to other people before simple practicalities of carrying a lot of shopping around town.

It also highlighted just how shallow people have become in our modern world worrying more about how people preceptive them before themselves and comfort.

Then there a people like myself who really care little about what people think about me and put myself and simple practicalities before what people think of me. In the end I tend to be the happier person as I am not worrying about trivial matters of how I am perceived by people and simply get on and enjoy my life happier that I have been truer to myself!

More I read and watch on the media and the internet the more I am getting angry with a world who collective mind is getting more small minded, trivial and self centred. All made worse because people believe such behaviour is totally acceptable in a modern progressive society!

It is the fact that people around me accept this as normal state of affairs which frankly it is not as such behaviour has never had a place in a civilized society and always leads to people being hurt and killed.

In the West we are angry with the actions of Islamic States in Iraq, which is disgusting and appalling, but we turn a blind eye to other behaviours in our own society which can be regarded as equally disgusting and appalling though people are not killed.

I am talking open bigotry by people both in United Kingdom and United States, especially Christians, against Muslims, homosexuals and even those people who do not follow what they consider the norm that is Atheists, Pagans and Wicans. In some cases this has lead to violence not quite as extreme but still presence as any violence even how small is bad and unacceptable!

All this fed by an establishment who want to make such people villains all in an effort to keep their power and privilege all made worse that people are actually allowing them to do this. I suspect in the West people have got lazy and apathetic and allowed themselves to become small minded because it easier than the alternative of actually thinking for themselves!

Do I expect someone out there to read this and sort of wake up what is happening around them and do something different?

No, as this small minded attitude is so ingrained in our society now people do it without thinking and seam incapable of changing their attitudes any more. I know I am being hard on people around me but after my life so far I have grown very cynical about the people around me and their ability to actually change or think for themselves.

Though not all the people I have met through my life have been like this but they have always been the exceptions!

From my own observations of the world through social networks on line to daily interaction of people our modern world seams to thrive on the negative be it hate, anger, discrimination and even ignorance. Everyone around me accept this as the normal state of affairs and very acceptable regardless of the fact such behaviour has never been acceptable in any civilised society in the past decades.

It is as if people do not care any more to lazy to do something about it to a point they just go along with everyone else in spreading such negative views, opinions and the such. Some are just pain stupid to believe and not question what is told them.

So now we have surrounded ourselves in a world full of hate, anger and discrimination driven by a media which feeds off it and people who are the targets of such negative thought and actions are now starting to suffer or even die because of this negativity.

And what do people do about it?

Nothing just sit there making the right noises but in the background still feed the hate, anger and discrimination which caused the deaths in the first place on top of which never taking responsibility for their own actions.

People simply find it easier to have negative and destructive thoughts in our modern world as positive thoughts would mean they would have to do something and actually be sociable to other human beings.

When the hate, anger and discrimination visits their own lives all I will say you made your own bed as you did nothing when it happened to others so why should you now expect some to lift a finger to help you?

I know this is a hard attitude but I am slowly getting fed up of large majority of the people around me because their inaction and lack of caring is killing off a once rich society leaving in place a grey shadow full of fear, hate and death!

It’s Not My Fault!

Posted: 4 August, 2014 in Comment, Life, Society

All we hear from governments, corporations and ever other people in our society when something goes wrong in our modern society. It is as if no one wants to take any responsibility when things go wrong any more and blame everyone else but themselves.

We now certainly live in a blame culture in the Western World even down to our media who seam to blame everyone than ourselves who created the situations in the first place. It has been too easy to blame rather than solve the problems yet another refection just how lazy Western Society has become as it is easier than actually tackling the issues head on as we should.

Here in the United Kingdom it is easier for large group of the general public including the young to blame the immigrants for taking their jobs and rowing them on the dole but rather than knuckling down and actually getting a job or finding a way to make money or living.

Then we wonder why nothing ever gets done or changes in our society because no one will take responsibility for their own actions at all levels of society rather than face the issues which face our society in general something we need to do for our society to move forward.

But until we wake up to this we as a whole will keep saying it’s not my fault and things will never change!

More and more I observe this modern world of ours we have created the more and more I get disillusioned and angry of the world we have all collectively built.

It’s not the utopia we and our forefathers were lead to believe with the advent of new technologies but a hard edged world which glorifiers the individual, triviality and money above anything else. A world where business and making money has pushed aside the basic humanity from the poor who have to do anything to survive to the rich in their ivory towers.

The world we have created for ourselves is no better than it was in Victorian times even the Dark Ages of Europe which massive inequalities, open bigotry and an over class who want to rule an oppressed underclass.

All supported by governments who serve the new over class rather than the people that actually voted them in which the politicians making all the right noises to the electorate but getting ever fatter off the new over class. All supported by media which spread misinformation to blatant lies how bad the world is to scare people into line strangely owned by the new over class.

What is worse the general populous of the world, especially in the West, know this is going on with few vocal few pointing it out but they seam happy or too lazy to do anything as lot of the time they have actually fell for the media’s manipulation. All not helped by this sense of individualism and basic need to survive which means as long as they are all right jack the world can screw itself even if it is at the subtle eroding of their hard won freedoms.

We as a world are coming out of an economic crash caused by the incompetence and criminal mismanagement of the banking systems in the West especially in the United States but have we learn anything from it and have those who caused the problems been punished?

The answer is no they are still in same positions within the Banks, other financial businesses and even in government doing exactly the same as they did before and as rich and powerful as they were before the economic crash they caused. They will create an economic boom which will be a fragile as the last economic boom in the 1990s which because of it’s foundations is almost doomed to end in yet another economic crash this time could be of an even more monumental scale!

Eventually things should not of stayed the same after the economic crash we should as a whole done something as a society to change things as in Iceland those responsible should have been brought to justice and the whole way Western Capitalism worked should have been brought under the spotlight and both reformed and its act cleaned up.

As I said it is getting a time we need to change things as currently our modern world is doomed for collapse in a spectacular way under it’s own weight, apathy and stagnation. What will be left will not be a pleasant world to live in if there is still a world left that is.

All this is a very stark view of the world but it need to be to get people really thing about the world around them before it is too late plus remind them that we can actually do something about it as what has been shown from recent history that normal people can change the world peacefully and without wars.

As I said at the start sooner a revolution comes the better even if this revolution is just a basic change of how we think and view about the world around us as thing have to change befoe it is too late!

What I still find fascinating people in our modern world still define themselves by their job all made stranger by the fact over our careers, unlike the past, we tend to have number of jobs. It did make more sense in the past as we tended to follow our fathers into their trade and with lack of a surname it made sense to use the person’s trade as a surname to distinguish between people.

But in the modern world, especially with faster and easier communication, and advent of surnames it makes less sense to me why people still define themselves by their trade or job. Though I suspect it’s because in our modern world, due to unnecessary pressures on life put on by governments and corporations, people live to work rather than work to live. That is they put their career and earning of money before themselves and family which has resulted in some problems in the fabric of our society.

Even I have fell into same trap in my 30s to a point work dominated my life at the expense to my personal life and hobbies which ended up with myself living to work rather than working to live.

But in later years, especially when I started to do something about my depression, I started to realise that this was not a healthy thing to do especially in a year I did not work at all because of my depression. I came to the conclusion it was better to define myself as me and the favourite things and interests as they defined me better than my job which has become now a means to earn money rather than my life.

In the end I have been more happier and comfortable with this new definition of myself as it is close to what defines me as my job does not define me any more.

As I get older I start to really wonder about the world about me not because I am getting older just slowly waking up to it because I am getting older and I started to think, has lying become accepted in the modern world?

I say this as we are surrounded by people, companies and governments who constantly pump out half truths to blatant lies about the world around us!

We know that this is happening and people accept it as the normal state of affairs in the world regardless of the fact the large majority of people where brought up, regardless of culture, that lying is bad even half truths.

All made worse by the fact that they come up with the lame excuse that it is the way of the world!

I must not be only one who wonders why it is the way of the world and we have to accept it from anyone including governments, companies and individuals?
