Interesting idea on Samsung’s part but looking at Tizen and what it does it makes far more sense than Android was it goes across whole set of devices.

Tizen, like Android, is a Linux distribution which works on wide range of devices but does not depend on Google and even more open source.

I suspect we are going to see more of this as even the manufactures are getting fed up of the big boy strangle hold on certain Open Source projects that Google on Android and Oracle on Java.

Personally it is high time Open Source because more open again and less dependent on the big computer companies again as I suspect it’s dependence on these companies has watered down their principles of free software for all.
