Fleet Street: The Abusers of Freedoms!

Posted: 5 November, 2016 in Comment, Life, Newspapers, United Kingdom

I know the freedom of the press is sacred here in the United Kingdom and I will be first one to jump up and shout if the government started to censor the press openly.

But after recent events you have to start to question the freedom of the press with the behaviour of certain Newspapers including The Sun and Daily Mail who have abused this right to spread hate, xenophobia and now even advocating people do not follow the rule of law all in the name to feed the extreme right-wing politics of their owners and editors.

All made worse by a government which fails to bring the said newspapers to task over these papers headlines which openly break so many laws including the Race Relations Act and The Racial and Religious Hatred Act to name two of the laws they have broken.

This is now an open abuse of the freedom of the press and British Law by these newspapers and by their actions they are endangering the very thing they hide behind as if they continue down this path they will find their freedom to publish what they want will be removed from them.

Personally it is time both the government and people of this country take action against The Sun and Daily Mail and send them a message such abuse of the freedom of the press is not acceptable in a civilised society.

Add to this by their very actions they are damaging the very fabric of our society and democracy which sends the wrong message to the world and easily lead within British society.
