Once in the West it was the Church who told us how to live and think even at the point of a sword wielded by those who wanted power and wealth at any cost. Something we over our history we have managed to remove from our society so we could finally enjoy our lives free from the church’s oppressive rule in the background.
What now dismays me in the United Kingdom and especially in the United States the oppressive rule of the Church has been replaced by insidious rule of the Corporations and those who run them. Who much like the leaders of the Churches in the past, especially in Europe, use their corporations to increase their power and wealth at the expense of society at a whole.
Much as the Churches before them the Corporations have started to directly influence the governments for their own benefit even to a point of telling people how to live, think even what to buy. All so a small group of people who head these corporations, much as religion before them, can live in abject wealth and privilege as parasites on the society they suppose serve.
What really worries me that people in general are blind to this thinking the corporations and the people who own them have the best intentions for them and society in general. When in actual fact the corporations and the people who own them are self serving to make money at the expense of society and even the environment.
These same people complain about poor wages, poor treatment and environmental damage about these corporations and do nothing about even keep buying from the offending corporations. Then they wonder why nothing ever changes and the power of the corporations grows as they know people will do nothing.
In conclusion the Church has been replaced by the Corporations who pray at the same alter of power, greed and wealth at any cost as the Church before them!
