The Internet is Not an Excuse!

Posted: 10 April, 2015 in Comment, Computer

Once again after a discussion with someone at work and my experience on the likes of Facebook it seams that people still think it is very acceptable to be rude, disrespectful and even bully people on line because they have the excuse of the freedom of speech specially on line.

But considering that even on line you are still dealing with a real person with real feeling and emotions such behaviour is still not acceptable after all would the same people do it face to face as they know such behaviour is simply wrong.

So why do they think their behaviour on line is acceptable even hiding behind the excuse of their right of freedom of speech?

Firstly the freedom of speech is not a justification even on line for people to be abusive, disrespectful and bully people as if anything it is an abuse of this right which even in face to face interactions is not acceptable behaviour in a civilized and free society.

Plus in our modern world considering we now use virtual and on line methods of communication more and more to interact even socialise with people we should treat people the same way on line as face to face interactions as after all we have as people and society need to move with the times and adapt way we do things as technology progressed.

Basically we should tread virtual and on line as face to face interactions in so much much we should respect people and not abuse our right of freedom of speech after all it is a way we deal with people on a day to day basis!
