The Height of Laziness In Business!

Posted: 6 October, 2014 in buisness, Comment, Life

I have always found those top level managers who just look at the figures and statistics to work out if their businesses is working well and making a profit a very lazy thing to do. After all a business is more than a set of figures but made up of people who strangely cannot be quantified by numbers.

It is my personal view that figures only tell a part of what is happening in a business and only partially useful in working out what is going in a business in a broad sense not what is actually happening on the ground where the people actually work and produce the money the business produces.

Hence those top level managers who just depend on looking at the figures and statistics really to not have a feeling how the business is going in so much how their customers and feel about the business and it’s products. In essence they become remote from the business itself and it’s customers and employees to a point they create their own Ivory Towers.

Sadly we see this happening all around us as top level managers and businesses put profits first before their customers and employees even the products they produce whose quality have dropped noticeably.

This is certainly both a modern and very old trend as far as business something which we all hoped had gone away and had for a long time. It is certainly not a very enlightened way to do things which always leads to trouble as people become very dissatisfied with the situation.

Add to this things do not have to be this way and decades ago when people did business or produced things they did it with a thought both for their employees and customers and still made big profits. These businessmen actually spent time understanding their business beyond the raw figures and statistics and reaped the benefits.

But as always in our modern world people forget when a crisis hits how do the basic things falling back on what they think are tried and trusted methods of doing business forgetting the basic fact they never worked the first time and the trouble they created!
